tHE VILLAGE

A small village of barely 1000 souls, Saint Aubin, is today one of the most recognized villages in the wine landscape of Anjou, for the quality of its wines, but also for the history it carries and which is highlighted through several monuments and historical passages.

The origin of Luigné comes from LUCINUS or land of Lucien. The oral culture of the time meant that the land was always named either by the name of a person or by the name of a place said and this
practice was perpetuated and sometimes distorted.

Saint Aubin, Village with a wine landscape since half of the 1500 Ha of the town are planted with vines. The Layon crossing from side to side has chiseled the rock overlooking very steep south-west slopes making the richness of the terroirs of the wines of Layon.
